Amy Doslich
STEM Day
Amy Doslich is a children’s author and illustrator who brings her STEM background into her storytelling. A retired actuary, she creates imaginative books for young readers and is also the co-host of Kids Ask, Authors Answer, which connects children with authors through live questions and conversations. Her work combines creativity, education, and a love of making reading fun for kids.
Erin Miller
Final Flight Final Fight
Erin Miller is an attorney, author, and flight instructor whose writing preserves the legacy of her grandmother, Elaine Danforth Harmon, a Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP) during World War II. After her grandmother was denied burial at Arlington National Cemetery, Erin led an advocacy effort that resulted in federal legislation restoring Arlington burial eligibility for WASP veterans. She has written both an account of that effort and a children’s book sharing her grandmother’s WASP story.

Erin Murphy
Daring Dexter
Erin Mariah Murphy is an international airline pilot and author whose books bring together two major parts of her life: aviation and animal rescue. Her flying career began at a young age and has included corporate and airline aviation; today, she flies the Boeing 787. Her children’s books draw inspiration from real animal-rescue experiences and the role aviation can play in giving rescue animals a second chance.

Jennifer Saddler Thomas
Can We Go Flying?
Jennifer Saddler Thomas is a third-generation pilot from Dayton, Ohio, whose aviation career spans more than three decades. She has worked as an aerial survey pilot, charter pilot, flight instructor, aviation educator, and in aviation communications and event management. An original staff member of Women in Aviation International, Jennifer now serves as an Aviation Educator at the WACO Education Center & Air Museum. Her children’s writing is inspired by her childhood, her father, and their shared love of flying.

Dr. Kodey Bogart
Helo Girls®: The Firefighting Pilot
Dr. Kodey Bogart, AvD., is a former U.S. Army Warrant Officer and aviator who flew Black Hawk helicopters during medical evacuation missions. A decorated combat veteran, she received two Air Medals and a Sikorsky Rescue Award and became the first woman designated Pilot in Command for day, night, and night-vision-goggle combat operations in the Florida Army National Guard. Her aviation experience also spans safety, flight training, maintenance test flights, helicopter air ambulance operations, and aviation law enforcement.

Laura Fryar
Be Something Epic: Aviator
Laura Fryar is a former U.S. Army AH-64D Apache pilot and the author of the children’s series Be Something Epic. During her Army aviation career, she served in numerous leadership positions and became a rated Pilot in Command, Air Mission Commander, and Maintenance Test Pilot. Her service included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and her military awards include the Bronze Star Medal and two Air Medals. Through Be Something Epic, Laura brings her aviation background into stories created for young readers.

Liz Davidson
Kaydee’s Quest
Liz Davidson is a commercial pilot who lives and flies in remote Alaska. When her children were younger, she struggled to find quality aviation-themed children’s books, so she began creating the kinds of stories she wished she had been able to read to them. Aviation is part of everyday family life: her husband is an aircraft mechanic, and their family enjoys exploring Alaska together.

Michelle “MACE” Curran
The Flipside: How to Invert Your Perspective and Turn Fear into Your Superpower
Michelle “MACE” Curran is a former U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter pilot, combat veteran, and bestselling author. She is one of a small number of women to have flown with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, where she performed precision aerial demonstrations. Today, she is an author and speaker whose work draws on her experiences in aviation, leadership, pressure, and overcoming uncertainty. Her writing includes the USA Today bestseller The Flipside as well as children’s books.

Patricia Osborn
The Spy That Could Fly
Patricia Osborn created Huey’s Books to share her love of aviation with the next generation. Drawing from her own aviation experience, she creates children’s stories that show young readers how military aircraft and their crews serve communities through real-world missions. Patricia is both a military and civilian aviator and holds an Airline Transport Pilot Multi-Engine certificate, Commercial Helicopter and Instrument ratings, and a master’s degree in Aeronautical Science with a specialization in Human Factors in Aviation.

Robin “R. D.” Kardon
FLYGIRL
Robin “R. D.” Kardon is the bestselling author of FLYGIRL, ANGEL FLIGHT, and FLYING HOME, which make up The Flygirl Trilogy. Her writing is informed by an extensive career in aviation: she is an Airline Transport Pilot who has flown around the world as both a corporate and airline pilot. Before aviation, Robin practiced law, and she holds degrees from NYU and American University Washington College of Law. She is also a writing instructor, critique-group leader, and private writing coach.

Sarah Doran
The Peppered Sky
Sarah Doran is a U.S. Army aviation veteran, author, and homeschooling mother whose children’s books draw from both her military upbringing and her own service. She served in Army aviation as a Black Hawk helicopter mechanic and crew chief. Her books are created to authentically represent military families while introducing young readers to service and aviation, with educational resources and STEM activities included alongside her stories.
