What happens when you give a family the opportunity to experience flight together for the first time?  

On August 1, 2026, Aviation Influence, Inc. (AVi) brought Take FLIGHT to the PGV Fly-In at Pitt-Greenville Airport in Greenville, North Carolina, where approximately 1,000 people gathered to celebrate aviation and explore the world of flight.  At the heart of our day were the four aircraft and crews providing free discovery flight experiences to families and children from the local community.  

This recap captures those moments — the excitement of walking out to the aircraft, meeting the pilots and crews, climbing aboard, and seeing the world from a completely different perspective. For some, it was a first flight. For others, it was the beginning of a new curiosity about aviation and what might be possible.  

The PGV Fly-In also featured approximately a dozen aircraft and helicopters on display, creating an opportunity for attendees to get up close with aviation in many different forms.  For AVi, these experiences are about much more than getting someone into an airplane. They’re about opening doors, building confidence, sparking curiosity, and helping young people see aviation as something they can be part of.  

Take FLIGHT is an extension of AVi’s mission to inspire youth and young professionals through STEAM and aviation outreach, connecting them with discovery experiences, mentorship, scholarships, education, and pathways into aviation careers.
