Program Update 

Aviation Influence, Inc. (AVi) is currently reviewing its internship program, with minor adjustments taking effect for the 2026 intern class. These updates aim to enhance the overall experience, strengthen professional development opportunities, and further align the program with AVi’s mission and growing initiatives. 

While we understand that many students seek traditional summer internships, AVi’s program offers greater value through extended involvement beyond the summer months. Over the past three years, we’ve seen that shorter summer schedules - combined with vacations and other seasonal commitments - can limit the full scope of what interns are able to experience. 

Those who remain involved beyond the summer term have gained the most from the program - taking on leadership roles, joining the AVi team, helping lead major outreach events, traveling with us, and even flying aboard our aircraft. Extended participation provides deeper mentorship, a stronger professional network, and tangible experiences that directly enhance each intern’s portfolio and career trajectory.

Compensation: AVi internships begin as unpaid, designed to provide valuable professional experience, mentorship, and exposure to nonprofit leadership. Top-performing interns may be considered for paid opportunities.

Take FLIGHT with AVi – Our Signature Program 

“Take FLIGHT with AVi” unites all AVi events and outreach efforts under one powerful theme. This initiative reflects our commitment to: 

• Fostering Leadership – Empowering youth to grow into future aviation and STEAM leaders 
• Igniting Generations – Inspiring curiosity and connection across generations 
• Harnessing Talent – Cultivating diverse young minds ready to thrive in future workforces 

Take FLIGHT with AVi delivers hands-on, high-impact experiences for youth ages 8+, featuring aerial displays, flight activities, guest speakers, and interactive exhibits. These events are designed to spark curiosity and build meaningful career connections through our partner network. 

Internship Responsibilities 

• Support day-to-day nonprofit operations 
• Assist with corporate and donor engagement 
• Research and summarize grant opportunities 
• Support donor communication and stewardship 
• Help plan and coordinate AVi events 
• Update and maintain the organization’s website and communications 
• Manage data and generate simple reports 
• Represent AVi at events (virtually or in person, when available) 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong organizational and project coordination abilities 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace 
• Professional communication and email etiquette 
• Interest in aviation, STEAM, and/or nonprofit administration 
• Experience with student groups or leadership (preferred but not required) 
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and collaborate as part of a team
